A big jerk bait that can be worked even with medium to heavy rod work.
Swimming Action
1. Magnum size minnow with outstanding Bass appeal
Megabass isn’t fooling around this time! Introducing the KANATA…a massive floating jerkbait that measures a whopping 160mm. For those in America, that’s 6½ inches! It’s hard to find a jerkbait this big… even if you look at the competition.
But the most impressive thing about this monster bait is the action that mimics large baitfish, and the flickering effect emitted from the sides of its large body that can be seen from a good distance under water. Additionally, the natural and tight roll action, for its size, will confuse the Bass with its natural baitfish action. When the baitfish in the lake are large, KANATA instantly becomes a go-to selection. When targeting Bass before wintering and those building strength before spawning, KANATA will give you results that other jerk baits cannot.
2. Achieving a sharp jerk that doesn't make you feel the size
During the prototype stage, while the body design was made with the same ratio as other jerks, the problem with KANATA was that it was heavy and hurt the wrist when jerked. To solve this, the team at Megabass reduced the thickness of the body to 10 mm, thinner than even OneTen, enabling a lighter jerk. Some may feel hesitant about using KANATA due to its size, but the same medium to medium-heavy tackle used for other jerkbaits can be used for KANATA. The beauty of KANATA is that it can be used in the same way as any jerkbait, despite its incredible size.
3. Long castability that can fly "far away"
The name KANATA (meaning ‘far away’) was given because of the appearance of ‘flying far away’. But by making the body thinner, there was less weight for its size, and the flight distance was a concern. This was solved by adding the patented Tungsten Triple Oscillating moving balancer system, that throws weight to the tail during casting. This provided an awe-inspiring distance to this huge lure. Only KANATA can explore a wide area comfortably with such a large minnow.
4. Two versions according to the depth desired
Two versions of this bad boy are available depending on depth. The KANATA has a maximum depth of 2.2m (7’), and the KANATA+1 has a maximum depth of 3.2m (10½’), so choose your Bass catching weapon accordingly.
