It is possible to fish depths of up to 5m (17’) by long casting and 8m or more by trolling with the IK-500R. It features a weak wobbling roll action that is not too strong. In addition, it is silent, so it is effective for surprising Bass under pressure. A long cast is essential to dive to a depth of 5m, so a long rod is a must if you want to maximize the capability of the IK-500R2. Also, when diving depth is a priority, we recommend using a thinner line, such as an 8-pound fluorocarbon line. Not only will this increase dive depth, but also flight distance, allowing the angler to swim the 5m depth for a longer time. Another good way to cover large, deep areas is by trolling, a method of swimming a lure behind the boat by dragging it at a constant speed with an electric trolling motor.
