If you see a lot of small baits but have no idea where Bass are, the Hazedong Shad 3" is one of your best search options. In Japan, the trend when it comes to small swimbaits, such as Gary Yamamoto's Leg Worm and OSP's HP Shad Tail, is to keep the body action tight and mimic to let Bass strike without hesitation, mistaking it for a real fish. These small swimbaits works very well when anglers know where Bass are. However, since these baits does not have strong drawing power, it’s hard to search Bass. Megabass designed the Hazedong Shad 3” with a wobbling action coupled with a thinner paddle. This gives the Hazedong Shad frantic tail action compared to other swimbaits of the same size. The Hazedong Shad also incorporates large eyes and recessed hook pocket for added realism. Since it has wobbling action rather than tight action, it can draw Bass at a distance, and its size makes the bass bite hard and fast.

2. Use vertically or horizontally with different rigging options

The Hazedong Shad can be used Texas rigged (weightless), with a jighead, or on a dropshot rig. For texas rigging, try attaching the drop shot hook in reverse and use a steady retrieve. For jig heads, the Hazedong Shad has a lower center of gravity, and by changing the material at the top and bottom of the body, you can easily create action with a jig head rig or down shot rig as shown in the video.

Hazedong Shad 3” and 4” are produced by different professional staff, and the product concept is clearly different. As mentioned above, the Hazedong Shad 3” is equipped with a paddle tail that flutters strongly, and is a paddle tail swimbait that can be moved horizontally or vertically with a jig head, down shot, or weightless. The tail on the 4” is smaller than 3", and the so-called "bouncing jig head technique" (fishing that invites the jig head to bounce by strongly shaking the rod.) is usually the prominent technique of the 4”.
