Big Presence Frog with Strong Water Push Appeal
1. High Attractiveness Thanks to the Powerful Water Push of the Large 77mm Frog
Introducing the BIG GABOT, an upsized version of MEGABASS's Frog PONY GABOT. With its larger size comes several additional features not found in the original. It boasts increased water displacement power, making it particularly effective for drawing bass from relatively wide areas or dense cover.
Rearward Weight Distribution
The attachment position of the skirt has been modified to pass through the protrusion at the rear end, shifting it even further backward than the original design. This adjustment allows the head to rise higher, ensuring a firmer grip of water by the cup, resulting in larger splashes. Additionally, since the skirt does not directly contact the body, it does not interfere with swimming action.
Enhanced Water Push with Upsizing
Despite the upsizing, the large catamaran mouth inherited from the original design ensures that maneuverability is not compromised. Additionally, with the enlarged body, the water displacement generated when the body swings from side to side becomes larger and more forceful.
2. Hook placement that reduces loss of catch
Frogs are often said to be relatively prone to losing their catch, but improvements have been made to their internal structure to prevent this. The hooks now move more flexibly during hooking, allowing them to better follow the movements of the bass, thus reducing unnecessary force. Additionally, new grooves have been added to the body where it contacts the hook, minimizing shifts during action. Even when actively targeting cover, these modifications help reduce hook snags during interference.
3. Utilize the Big Gabot, the Largest of the PONY GABOT Trio, for Maximum Presence
The PONY GABOT series consists of three models: the original at 63mm, PONY GABOT Jr. at 54mm, and the BIG GABOT at 77mm.
Using the original as a reference, it's best to adjust the size up or down according to the situation. The action of the original is more akin to a dog-walk rather than a single-point pivot when it swings its head. On the other hand, the PONY GABOT Jr. excels at single-point pivoting, allowing it to stay in place and thoroughly target specific points. Despite its small size, it generates strong water displacement on the body sides, ensuring it produces splashes while swinging from side to side, unlike other highly maneuverable frogs that merely cut through the water.
In contrast, the BIG GABOT, due to its larger size, produces even bigger splashes compared to the other two in the series. Its water displacement power is top-notch among the series.
For situations where bass are targeting insects falling from above or during the recovery period after feeding, when they are not actively chasing prey, the PONY GABOT Jr. would be ideal. On the other hand, when targeting bass in slightly wider areas, areas with some turbidity, or areas with dense vegetation such as water lilies, using the BIG GABOT to float bass would be more effective.
