A lipless crankbait designed for efficiently searching ultra-deep waters with reduced snagging
Swimming Action
1. The weaknesses of winter deep water staples: deep crankbaits and heavy spinnerbaits
During the low water temperature period when bass cling to the bottom, deep crankbaits and heavy spinnerbaits become alternatives to slowing down. They can search more efficiently than rubber jigs or texas rigs, but they take time to reach the desired range and cannot quickly skip points that don't need much searching with fast reeling, often resulting in poorer handling than usual moving baits. Jackall's pursuit of a more efficient way to target deep bass led to the development of the lipless crankbait.
2. Heavy and Compact for Immediate Range Targeting and Fast Reeling
With a heavy lipless crankbait, you can quickly reach deep ranges and maintain the desired range longer. However, when targeting depths over 3 meters (10 feet), the lure size tends to increase, making it difficult for bass in winter to bite. The technology that solves this issue is the Trigon Lip. By increasing the weight of the original TN's chin, the weight relative to the body size dramatically increases (about a 5.8g, or approximately 0.2oz, increase for the same 60 size). This allows for deep fishing with the same size and feel of traditional lipless crankbaits. After casting, the lure quickly reaches the targeted range. In potential bass locations, slow retrieves are effective, while in less promising spots, fast retrieves can be employed, which is not feasible with deep crankbaits or heavy spinnerbaits.
3. Trigon Lip Minimizes Snags and Targets Bottom-Hugging Bass
Using a lipless crankbait often raises concerns about snagging, especially near bottom obstacles, where it is more prone to snags than crankbaits or spinnerbaits. However, the TN Trigon, with its unique Trigon Lip, is designed to be less susceptible to snagging.
- During straight retrieval, the body adopts an upright position, keeping the hook point behind it, which reduces snagging. Additionally, when it hits an obstacle, it tilts forward, further reducing the chance of snags.
- During lift and fall, the rear hook stands upright upon hitting the bottom, avoiding unnecessary debris.
The TN Trigon allows for targeting bass clinging to the bottom, which might have been previously avoided due to snagging concerns.
4. When Targeting Shallow and Mid-Water Ranges, It's Time for the Original TN
The TN Trigon, with its compact body and heavy weight, is excellent for deep range fishing. However, when fishing in waters around 3 meters (10 feet) depth, targeting shallow to mid-range, the original TN is recommended. Due to its heavy weight, the Trigon requires ultra-fast reeling, which makes it challenging to entice bites unless the bass are highly active.
In contrast, the original TN maintains the body size of the Trigon but is lighter in weight, allowing for slower reeling in the same range as the Trigon. By using the original TN for shallow to mid-water ranges and the TN Trigon for deep waters, you can cover all ranges effectively, increasing the likelihood of encountering bass.
