Ultra-Thin Soft-Plastic with a Jointed Bluegill-Shaped Flat Body
Swimming Action
1. So translucent and thin it triggers bites even from inactive bass

A new soft-plastic has been born that combines the extremely thin tail and connected design of the SAKANA SAKANA with a gill-shaped flat body. There are two main reasons why ultra-thin soft-plastics are effective:
Reason #1
Simply put, predatory fish are attracted to thin objects. The GillGill leverages the natural tendency of fish to bite thin objects, just like the SAKANA SAKANA.
Reason #2
Excellent action response. Ultra-thin soft-plastics react to the slightest line tension and water current, allowing you to create flashing movements that trigger bites even in clear water where bass are more line-shy and cautious.
Try the SAKANA SAKANA and GillGill as your ultimate weapons in your arsenal of bite-triggering soft baits.
2. Recommended techniques - especially effective for sight fishing
GillGill performs best in close-range sight fishing. You can get bass to commit to biting by using these three rigging methods:
Recommended Rig #1 – Hover-Strolling

Match your approach to the bass’s line of sight with either dangling or bottom strolling. For dangling, keep the bait near the surface, then shake it as you let it sink gradually to mid-depth. For bottom strolling, cast out, let it sink with a twitching retrieve, then work it along the bottom with subtle shaking movements.
Recommended Rig #2 - Split Shot Rig

This setup is effective when bass are distant or deep. Using an offset hook reduces bottom snags, making it perfect for imitating small bluegill or goby hugging the bottom.
Recommended Rig #3 - Weightless Rig

This rig is effective when bass are nearby or when fishing for visible bass in clear water or shallows.
3. When to use GillGill vs. SAKANA SAKANA
For sight fishing scenarios, start with the SAKANA SAKANA. If you don't get a reaction, switch to the GillGill. The GillGill was designed to trigger bites from bass that won't even hit the SAKANA SAKANA (which was already designed with the concept of "catching every last fish"). Although both are ultra-thin soft-plastics, the different silhouettes can dramatically change how bass respond. Keep both types on hand to adapt to varying bass moods and fishing conditions, and enjoy observing the different reactions they produce!
