A crankbait that mimics a bat-like erratic action
1. A small crankbait that effortlessly glides from side to side with a simple retrieve.
Imakatsu's Waddle Bats series stands out as one of the world's only crankbaits that elegantly meanders from left to right as you reel it in. But the Waddle Bat also provides an erratic action element as well. The key to its unpredictable motion lies in Imakatsu's patented waddle blade system (PAT.P). This unique system, consisting of a free spinning rear blade, allows the lure to 'scoop' water (akin to a front mounted lip), momentarily throwing off its balance. As the lip pivots to the rear and releases water, the lure returns to its center. By repeating this motion randomly on both the left and right sides, it seamlessly shifts direction while fluttering about, attracting reaction strikes."
2. The Waddle Bats provokes reaction strikes while swimming through mid-level zones like grassy areas.
Traditional crankbaits are designed to swim in a straight line, a feature valued around cover where maintaining balance upon collision with obstacles is crucial (e.g., Deps' EVOKE series, Megabass' SUPER-Z series, Lucky Craft's LC series). However, in open areas where there’s weed growth but obstacles are scarce, using a crankbait with a monotonous straight-line action may not effectively trigger strikes. This is where Waddle Bats shine. The moment a Bass notices the lure, it's attracted to the Waddle Bats erratic, side-to-side dance. Even if the Bass isn't particularly hungry, This ‘drunken bat’ action often induces reaction strikes.
3. Maximize your fishing success by choosing from three different sizes.
The Waddle Bats series comes in three available sizes: the compact Little Bats, the original-sized Waddle Bats, and the substantial Big Bats. Select the appropriate size based on your target bass size and the lake being fished.
