Swimming Action
1. A Joint Bait That Allows for Body Resilience Adjustment: SPINE-X
SPINE-X is one of the trailblazers among joint baits, characterized by its capacity to modify the realism and resilience of the lure's movements. This is achieved by inserting 1 to 3 shape-memory titanium wires into the body. Equipped with the LIVE-WIRED-SYSTEM (PAT.P), SPINE-X brings a new possibility to the big fish game by imitating the realistic movements of baitfish.
2. The Birth of SPINE-X
The inception of SPINE-X arose from doubts concerning the behavior of traditional joint baits. Yuki Ito, the CEO of the Megabass Group, observed joint baits moving in a sinuous manner akin to snakes. He felt that this was far from the actual movements of fish, especially noticeable in clear water where bass seemed to be giving the lures a wide berth. As a result, Ito focused on how real fish swim powerfully using their muscles and bones, leading to the development of SPINE-X, which aimed to reproduce these movements.
3. Adjusting Resilience: Wire Count Variations
The most significant feature of SPINE-X is its ability to adjust the lure's resilience, achieved by varying the wire count.
Single Wire: Recommended when you want to draw SPINE-X at a dead slow pace. It can produce significant action even against minor water currents. Due to its reduced water resistance, it performs natural movements at a slow retrieve.
Double Wire: The standard setting, realizing the ideal baitfish-like action as perceived by Ito. It is optimal for medium to high-speed retrieves, emulating the movements of lively baitfish.
Triple Wire: SPINE-X swims most muscularly. It is perfect for high-speed retrieves and times when contact with obstacles is anticipated. This is particularly advantageous around obstacles, overcoming the unnatural posture of traditional joint baits when hitting an obstacle and the delay in getting back into action.
