All of the best attributes of the Killer Bill series, including its jointed body and durable Elastomer resin tail, are inherited in the downsized BabyKillerBill. With the same outstanding darting performance and lifelike appearance, BabyKillerBill is designed to be the most diminutive version within the series (7.5cm, 3”). This downsized version offers enhanced maneuverability and nimble darting action compared to the original Super Killer Bill (9cm, 3.5”). The increased variety within the Killer Bill series provides more flexibility according to the fishing environment.

2. Realistic movements that remain undetected even when pausing to entice bass during low-water temperatures, with double hooks on the tail for playful strikes from perch.

When casting the BabyKillerBill during periods of low water temperatures, when bass may not be in an aggressive mood, adding pauses to your retrieve is usually effective. The slight water movement of the stop causes the lure to sway gently, simulating the lifelike resting of small fish and enticing strikes without arousing suspicion. Even when downsized, the BabyKillerBill accommodates three hooks, including double hooks on the tail. By positioning the rear hook against the tail fin and parallel to the body, chances of hooking a stray perch or tail nibbling Bass increase without losing them.

The BabyKillerBill’s jointed body reduces water resistance, making it easier to execute a darting action. One recommended technique is to use twitching and pauses. Irregular darting, which is challenging with longer bill minnows, can be achieved with simple twitching, leading to unpredictable movements and increased reaction strikes.

3. Exploring Deep and Wide with the Carolina Rig.

An advanced technique recommended by experts is the Carolina rig. Instead of attaching the weight directly to the hook, thread the bell weight into the line and attach the hook to the leader (see photo below). This allows the lure to dive deeper than its typical range and also improves casting distance. With a leader of approximately 50cm (20”), you can explore depths of several meters.

One popular technique is to let the weight hit bottom, then let the lure float up and away from it. Then twitch back to the weight, mimicking a baitfish feeding at the bottom.
