A Controlled Darting Alternative to Mid-Strolling

The Ryugi DARTING VESPA is a finesse jig head developed specifically for controlled side-to-side darting in bass fishing.

Conventional mid-strolling and bottom-strolling presentations rely mainly on steady swimming and rolling action. The DARTING VESPA adds sudden lateral movement, giving anglers another way to trigger reaction bites from bass that follow a steadily moving bait but will not commit.

Its resin-tungsten head uses a carefully tuned shape, angle, and center of gravity to produce consistent left-to-right darts with short rod movements. Ryugi intentionally kept the darting range under control. The bait moves sharply enough to imitate an escaping baitfish without jumping excessively far away from the strike zone.

A twisted-wire guard allows the jig head to be worked around bottom structure and light cover.

Rig the soft plastic as straight as possible and use short, sharp rod snaps to make it dart through midwater or close to the bottom. It is especially useful when a standard mid-strolling or bottom-strolling retrieve produces follows but no bites.
