B.A.S.S. Elite Taku Ito's Request for a Heavy Cover and Strong Water Displacement Hog Series Worm for U.S. Tournaments
1. Effective in Heavy Cover, with Strong Water Displacement to Alert Distant Bass
The Norie's Hog soft-plastic, the Escape Twin, has maintained its popularity for over 15 years in Japan. A staple in Japan, its effectiveness is well-known among many Japanese anglers.
B.A.S.S. Elite angler Taku Ito is renowned for his use of the Escape Twin, even employing it in his initial forays into U.S. tournaments to tackle heavy cover. However, while effective for American bass, Taku noticed a decrease in fishing efficiency in the U.S. due to the even heavier cover - hooks would become exposed after catching just one or two fish or getting snagged. He felt the need for another Hog soft-plastic with stronger water displacement to more efficiently locate bass in the vast the U.S. fields.
Responding to this need, Norie's developed the Front Flapper Curly, a soft-plastic stronger in heavy cover and with more water displacement than the Escape Twin. Designed for easy slide into cover with its flat body, it also features ribs across the entire body to enhance hook holding power and stir the water effectively.
Furthermore, the Front Flapper Curly is equipped with paddle-tail type arms at the center of the body, making it easier for bass lurking in cover to detect the lure, even from a distance.
2. Switch to Escape Twin for Better Results in Tough Conditions
The Front Flapper Curly excels in heavy cover with its strong water displacement, making it easier for bass to detect it. However, when bass are more cautious or the bites are subtle, it's time to switch to the Escape Twin. The Escape Twin creates less water disturbance than the Front Flapper Curly and is designed to mimic the action of natural creatures more closely.
