By inserting a lightweight nail weight into the head of the soft-plastic and rigging a drop-shot hook on the back, the lure can be made to swim sideways. This technique is excellent for targeting areas close to the shore or under overhangs. Fish that may not respond to vertical movements can often be enticed to bite by swimming sideways.
